Artemis Fowl

Let's start with the Artemis Fowl series by Eoin (it's pronounced Owen!) Colfer. I read them like...uh...last summer, and got totally obsessed with them. For no odd reason, I'm back in my AF phase, so I'm going to blog about these books first. AND NO ONE CAN STOP ME!!! MU HA HA HA HA!!!!!
Sorry.

First of all, plot summary of the first book.
A twelve year-old criminal mastermind
(who likes caviar), Artemis Fowl II, has decided to kidnap a fairy in order to make lots of money (one metric ton of gold, if you must know). The operation goes smoothly, until the Fairy Folk, who live underground, try to defeat Master Fowl with their magic and super-hi-tech gadgets. So who will triumph in this hilarious cross-species escapade? Read the book to find out.

Second, this book (or rather, the series) got me hooked onto this new kind of sci-fi/fantasy genre. Basically, it drastically changes what most people think about popular mythological creatures, and combines it with an unexpected storyline set in the modern world.

Third, MUST READ!!!! Hee.

<--Doesn't the UK cover look so much better than the US one?
